We might be “church planters”, but we are first and foremost commissioned messengers of a vision that promises to change the world, one person at a time. That vision is the required foundation, jet fuel, and ‘not-so-secret-sauce’ of our ministry at Restoration Church. It is the one thing that our ministry will rise or fall on.
The Gospel is Everything
We formally launched our weekend worship gatherings a few weeks ago on Saturday, May 5th. (We’re meeting weekly on Saturday evenings at 5:30 PM.) Our focus has been on this ‘one thing’ that every church, every ministry, every success story is built upon – the foundation of the Gospel. The reality is, there is an endless supply of ‘false gospels’ that are constantly vying for yours and my attention every moment of the day. False loves. False dreams. False hopes. False visions of the ‘good life’. Often, these competing ‘gospels’ ever so slightly move our hearts away from true North, the object our hearts were intended, designed, and made to love, crave, and worship – Jesus Christ.
Therefore, in the attempt to strip away the excess, cultivate authenticity, and reorient our hearts to the One True Gospel that offers and fulfills what these false ‘gospels’ can never do, we’re committing to getting this ‘one thing’ right. By the grace of God, we desire to understand, believe, and live by the mantra that the Gospel is everything. Only the Gospel – the ‘good news’ Jesus died to rescue you – can bring about an everlasting, fully restored life from the brokenness, hurt, turmoil, and imperfections of this fallen world. As such, it’s our prayer that Restoration Church would become the messengers, carrier pigeons, relational communicators, and living examples of this restorative, epic vision for the world, found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ alone.
