A Kingdom-Sized Vision

Blog Post 10-01-18

We’re on to something.

I believe it. The returns are early and God is moving. I can feel it. The paradigm is shifting for the better.

If you’ve been following us for some time, you too can probably see it. The journey has often been uncertain and vulnerable. Yet the Lord has carried us through missed expectations, unexpected results, new relationships, Spirit-led inspiration, and the need for courageous faith.

But we can’t do it alone. In order for it to become a reality, Mary and I need your help.

Training Next Generation Leaders

We believe in inviting every follower of Jesus Christ to a disciple-multiplication movement built on the calling of the Holy Spirit. We’re already inspiring and training the next generation of Christian leaders to a life of radical faith in Jesus and missional-living. From pastoral ministry to the college classroom, one-on-one mentoring, writing, video producing, and podcasting, we’re leveraging every opportunity to influence and equip future leaders of the church for Kingdom-expansion. Our vision is to extend these avenues for training, coaching and leadership development to a broader audience both locally and globally.

Innovative Church Planting

“If you make disciples, you will always get the church. But if you try to build the church, you will rarely get disciples.” (Mike Breen)

More than ever, we need the restorative power that is found in Jesus Christ extended to our families, neighbors, communities, and the world. We planted Restoration Church in Lake Zurich (a northwest suburb of Chicago) with a mission to share Jesus with the world by making disciples of all nations. We’re innovating “how” we do church and lead others into transformative faith, authentic relationships, and living a life on mission for the Kingdom without barriers.

Recently, we began an experiment of “flipping” the church by pre-producing my weekly sermon and sharing it online by video and podcast. We then spend more time in church on Sunday reflecting and applying the teaching and exhortation from the Word in community. We also emphasize worship, prayer, and taking communion together on a weekly basis, even with our kids present! The early returns on this approach have been very positive. We are seeing growth in personal discipleship, increased authenticity in our gatherings, and the vision to see new, easy to replicate, micro-site churches started.

It may not seem like much, but did you know that our pre-produced messages shared online by video and podcast already reaches over 300 people on a weekly basis organically? With only a few dollars a day, we have the potential to reach thousands with relevant biblical teaching and the vision to start a number of micro-site churches using the same, easy to replicate discipleship model for church found in Acts 2:42.
